Home Exercises to Lose Weight Quickly - 5 Tips


Exercise is an important part of any weight loss regimen. But with busy schedules, we all want to know which exercises will help us lose the most weight quickly.
Broadly, there are two types of exercises: aerobic and strength training (or anaerobic), and each one contributes differently to weight loss. Aerobic exercise burns fat calories while you are engaged in the exercise itself. On the other hand, strength training primarily contributes to weight loss by helping to increase the speed of your resting metabolic rate (RMR), which is the number of calories your body burns while you are at rest. Your RMR actually increases (i.e., burns more calories) the more muscular your body is because it takes much more energy to maintain muscles than it does to maintain fat.
Important note: remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so some strength training exercises will make you healthier and more attractive while not necessarily contributing to weight loss. But, muscles are a "good" kind of weight and you should aim to build more muscle in order to help keep body fat at bay.
Here are 5 tips for exercises - both aerobic and strength training - you can do at home to lose weight quickly.
Tip #1: Squats: Your buttocks and leg muscles are the largest muscles in your body. Every day in front of the mirror, put your feet at shoulder width while facing forward and squat down-and-up 10-20 times for 2 or 3 sets. This will build your leg and buttock muscles. As you build up strength, try holding 2 or 5 pound dumbbells in your hands while you work out. Be sure to warm up first, and stop if you notice any sharp pain in your knees.
Tip #2: Pushups: Pushups are a form of strength training: during a pushup your arms have to support up to 70% of your body weight. Do 2 or 3 sets of 20 pushups to build arm strength and increase your RMR.
Tip #3: Jumping jacks: Jumping jacks are an excellent whole-body aerobic workout you can do right at home. Do 4 or 5 sets of 20 jumping jacks, or as needed. Hint: if you live in an apartment or stay in a second-story bedroom, be considerate of your neighbors by going outside or doing these in a first story room.
Tip #4: Fast walking: While walking is in itself a great aerobic exercise, fast walking is even better for burning fat. Make sure you really stretch first and warm up with regular walking. Once you start your faster walking pace, try to maintain as much speed as possible for as long as you can. If you get tired, try doing intervals of fast walking followed by short periods of slower walking.
Tip #5: Stepping: Stepping is a great way to get your heart beating and to burn calories. You can use your stairs at home, but for best results I suggest buying specialized stackable step mats and stack them up to at least 15 inches (38 cm). Do 2 to 3 sets of 20 steps each to begin. Even though you may not feel like the stepping is helping, it is! This exercise will not only help you lose weight but will also help shape up your buttocks and legs.
An important element in a strategy to lose weight quickly at home is to do a combination of exercises that build muscles (strength training) while burning fat (aerobic exercises). Start a regimen of most or all of these exercises 2-3 days/week and watch the unhealthy fat melt away.

In theory, all you need do is eat less calories than it takes to maintain your body, and viola - you lose weight. Your maintenance calorie need is 2250. You eat 2000. Your body takes the other 250 from your fat cells. The longer you stay at 2000 calories, the more your body takes from your fat cells.

Yet, if it were truly that easy, then there wouldn't be a whole cottage industry of late night infomercials, diet pills, and diet plans. So, it's not easy, but it's not that complex either. It's fairly straightforward.
Your body is remarkably ingenious. It wants to survive. It wants you to survive. Like a bear in hibernation, it values a nice layer of fat. My mom used to say that so long as we had an extra bag of rice at home, we'd never starve.
That belly gut is your body's extra bag of rice.
So, to get rid of that belly gut, you have to convince your body that you no longer need that extra bag of rice. You have to convince your body that you will not have to endure a harsh winter of no food, no crops, no harvest, blah, blah, blah.
The most straightforward way would be eat several meals a day. Having a constant stream of nutrients coming into your body will most likely convince your body that it no longer needs to hoard fat. Combined with a fat burning program, like HIIT or boxing, you begin your journey to losing weight.
Which brings us to the question of what to eat during those several meals a day. There are the high protein/low fat, high carb/low fat, high fat/low carb, or my favorite - high protein, higher carb, and ridiculously high fat diets (just kidding).
There is the caveman's diet, the gladiator's diet, kung fu panda's diet, diets named after a city, diets named after a guy, and diets named after a diet.
And then there is the vegetarian diet, the vegan diet, the lactovegetarian diet, and the "what is this - rabbit food - diet."
So, which is best?
I would contend that all can work, and certainly each have its endorsers and testimonials for success.
But the one that I think really merits further consideration is a vegetarian diets.
I think most of us, even a carnivore like myself, is only about 15 to 20% away from a vegetarian. So far today, I have had a handful of fresh peanuts, 2 bananas, an apple, 2 honey oat toast with organic strawberry spread and cream cheese, organic granola bar, pint of fat free milk, and about 4 oz of roast chicken. Oh yes, I have drank about a liter and half of water. I'll probably have a plate of spaghetti with marinara for dinner, mixed green salad and more water.
Cut out the chicken and it's pretty much a vegetarian diet. I think if most looked at their daily diet, the same kind of conclusion can be drawn.
And really, a diet of fresh fruit, veggies, grains, and nuts just reeks of health. And what's healthy, done in moderation, can only be a good for either weight loss or weight maintenance.
And the 2 knocks against vegetarian diets are really irrelevant misconceptions. You can get plenty of protein, including essential amino acids, in this diet. As for a filling meal - try a plate of pasta with roast garlic and olive oil. With a refreshing glass of Pinot Grigio, you will have a satisfying dinner. And it takes about 20 minutes to make, tops.
The challenge with a vegetarian diet is watching the fats and total caloric intake. Nuts have got decent levels of fat in it. Tofu can be loaded with fat. And Soy products have some controversy to them. Plus, a bad offender are the juices and smoothies that claim to have XXX equivalent serving of fruit and/or veggies in it - just loaded with calories.
That said, eating 5 or 6 small meals through the day, be it with vegetarian based or meat based, you keep your body happy and satisfied.

My Experience Using Raspberry Ketone for Weight Loss

The Beginning of My Journey
I first heard about Raspberry Ketones from a well known TV doctor. This was a little over a year ago when I was first starting my weight loss journey. At the time I wasn't taking any supplements, I had recently started eating healthier and had started walking and working out at the gym a couple times a week.

My Results
Since I also work out and eat healthy every month, it's hard to judge how much of my weight loss comes from this one supplement, but I know my losses went up after starting the supplement. Exercises To Lose Weight: What Are The Best Ones?

There are many types of exercises to lose weight. Some of them are more suitable for an advanced trainer, whereas some are suitable even for beginners. Among these exercises, some are more effective, while some are less effective. I do not see the point in performing exercises which yield only minimal results, and that you should only focus on performing exercises which actually strips fat as quickly as possible from your body.

The first exercise will be interval cardio training. It involves running, but is vastly different from regular jogging because of several reasons. It is a form of exercise, where you run for a predetermined period of time, and jog at a somewhat leisurely pace right after that for another predetermined period of time. The amount of time spent running is usually half of that spent jogging.

 To take a simple example, you will be sprinting for one minute, then jogging for two minutes. You should find a preset level of running intensity such that you will be testing your body's potential without over-exerting yourself. You should perform as many sets of the above until you feel like you are not able to proceed with the exercise anymore. Interval cardio is great not only for improving your running abilities, but also for stripping away fats from your body quickly!



The next exercise is actually a body weight exercise circuit. Let me first explain why I recommend this. Body weight exercises require us to make use of the stabilization muscles, which is not activated when we use machines in the gym. Also, it builds functional strength, and is generally easy to perform with less chances of injury. At the same time, it strips fats from our bodies very quickly as well! With that said, there are slight differences in the type of exercises to be performed within the circuit for men and women due to the variation in difficulty of the exercises.

For the ladies, you will be performing push-ups, incline pull-ups, and squats. You should ideally perform twenty to twenty-five repetitions of each exercise, back-to-back within each set. If you are not able to perform that many repetitions, fret not, and start from a lower number such as ten. This body weight exercise circuit should be performed for at least three times. If you are more advanced, you can do more.
For the men, you should do push-ups, pull-ups and squats. You should aim to perform about thirty repetitions of push ups and squats in each circuit, and about four to eight sets of pull ups. Repeat this circuit for three times. You can increase the intensity as your strength increases.
Remember, before and after completing the above exercises, always perform warm up and cool down exercises respectively.

Now body weight exercises are just another name for any movement that pits one part/muscle of your body against another. For example a standard military pushup is a body weight exercise. Many of the new workout programs are being promoted today, you know the ones heavily advertised on TV. Using videos, an exercise mat, resistance bands and calisthetics you can see spectacular results in thirty, sixty or ninety days. Well the truth is it works! The other secret is you do not need to spend a lot of money on these programs when the basic exercises are familiar to nearly everyone.

Now that is not to take anything away from these programs. The ones I have seen offer solid techniques and information. These programs are great for someone who needs help and motivation, but they are not necessary to achieve results and not having them is not an excuse for not beginning a workout program.
For me body weight exercises combined with resistance bands are the way to go. Even at my advanced age of sixty-six I have seen an increase in muscle mass, stamina, flexibility, posture and an overall feeling of strength and well being. So mix some body weight exercises into your normal workout routine.
